2020 Fantasy Tree Festival moves to virtual platform, celebrates "Masked Heroes"

GARDEN CITY, Kan. – Russell Child Development is celebrating “Masked Heroes” this year for the 2020 Fantasy Tree Festival. The theme is to honor all heroes at a time when they’re already wearing masks!

This year’s fundraising auction is being moved to an online format. Supporters can bid anytime from Monday, November 16, 2020 at Noon to Saturday, November 21 at Midnight. With the online auction, RCDC will be hosting a live show on Saturday, November 21, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. This show will be full of entertainment, auction item spotlights, and inspiring stories of those who have received RCDC services.

Like in past years, RCDC will be selling chance tickets for choice trips for two. Chance tickets can be purchased online at www.rcdc4kids or from an RCDC staff or board member.

New this year is a 2020 Fantasy Tree Festival commemorative ornament. This ornament features the 2020 Fantasy Tree Festival Logo and is the start of an annual tradition of commemorative ornaments. Those who purchase an RCDC Fantasy Tree Festival ornament for only $25 will be able to start a unique collection displaying their support for years to come!

RCDC Executive Director Deanna Berry says, “Life is all about change, and 2020 has been a year requiring a lot of adjustment for us all. Just as our precious children grow and change over the years, so must we grow and adapt to the world around us. Fortunately, during times of stressful change, we can rely on our family, friends and communities to lend a helping hand when needed, and even though this year’s fundraising event will be held using a very different format from our traditional festivities, we know you will still step up to make sure our most vulnerable little ones will continue to have the support they need from RCDC. Please join us on November 21st to support our kids and have some fun at the same time. Thank you, southwest Kansas!”
